The Case for Tranzition 25 lb, and Against It
This one deserves the argument both ways. Tranzition runs weeks one to three of flower and nothing else, at a quarter to half a teaspoon per gallon. That narrow window is exactly why the bag lasts. At the mild rate 25 lb carries somewhere near 18,000 gallons of finished feed, which no single room will touch. It makes sense for a facility flipping rooms every couple of weeks, a nursery on contract, or anyone mixing by the barrel. For everyone else the smaller bags cost less to own and never sit long enough to cake. The blend does not change with the weight. Alfalfa meal, worm castings and kelp, with 3% humic acids already in it.
Storing a Micronized Transition Feed That Moves Slowly
A bag that lasts years is a storage problem as much as a feed. Organic meals take up moisture, and a powder that has caked mixes badly and doses worse. Keep it sealed, keep it cool, and keep it off a floor that sweats. Decanting into smaller sealed tubs is worth the ten minutes if the bag gets opened weekly. Mixing changes too at this weight. Weigh a batch against the tank rather than counting spoons, and slurry it in warm water before it meets the full volume. The grind is fine enough for drip, fertigation, recirculation or flood, and fine enough to brew alongside Micronized Compost Tea. Strain a brew before it reaches a sprayer.
Key Features
- Three weeks per cycle: Weeks one to three of flower, which is why a bag this size lasts so long.
- About 18,000 gallons: At a quarter teaspoon per gallon, or 4,500 gallons at a full teaspoon.
- 1.42-2-1.5 with 3% humic: Alfalfa meal, worm castings and kelp, unchanged from the smaller bags.
- Facility scale only: A multi-room site or a nursery. One room is better served by 5 or 10 lb.
- Weigh, do not spoon: Measure a batch against the tank once you are mixing for several rooms.
- Slurry before the tank: Warm water in a bucket first, or the powder rides on the surface.
- Store sealed and cool: Organic meals take up moisture, and a caked bag doses badly.
- Decant if opened weekly: Smaller sealed tubs cost the sack less condition over a long life.
- Runs through any line: Drip, fertigation, recirculation or flood, and it brews for a tea as well.
