Reading EC with the Growlink Sensorex CS150 TDS Sensor

The Growlink Sensorex CS150 TDS Sensor reads conductivity and total dissolved solids on a 12 mm graphite contacting probe rated for lab and light-industrial use. The cell constant is K=1.0, which covers the standard hydroponic feed range. A built-in PT1000 temperature element feeds Automatic Temperature Compensation back through the same cable. EC reads stay honest across reservoir temperature swings. Terminations include a BNC connector for instrumentation and tinned leads for transmitter wiring. The body is plastic with graphite measuring surfaces. Operating range is 0–70°C / 32–158°F.

Tank or In-Line Mounting and Sensorex CX-Series Wiring

The probe handles two install paths. Drop it into a tank for submerged reads. The in-line option uses an FC50P or FC75P gland and nut fitting through a tee, sized for ½″ and ¾″ NPT pipes. The lab cable variant talks to the Sensorex CM1000 meter. The 10ft and 30ft process cables wire into Sensorex CX-series transmitters such as the CX105, CX2000, CX2000RS, and CX3100. Pick the cable length that matches the run from probe to transmitter. Clean the graphite surface with gentle detergent or 5% HCl in a small cup between batches. The Sensorex CS150 conductivity sensor holds calibration through the cleaning cycle. Most rooms work through two probes a season once a graphite element has logged enough hours in high-EC drainback. Pair this graphite EC/TDS sensor with a Sensorex transmitter for continuous logging through the run. Keep a spare on the shelf for swap-day during summer drainback peaks. A spare cuts downtime when a probe needs cleaning mid-bloom.

Key Features

  • 12 mm Graphite Contacting Probe: Cost-effective EC/TDS read for lab and light-industrial reservoir or in-line use.
  • K=1.0 Cell Constant: Sized for the standard hydroponic feed range — good resolution from veg through bloom EC values.
  • PT1000 Temperature Element: Automatic Temperature Compensation built into the cable keeps EC readings honest across tank temp swings.
  • BNC + Tinned Lead Terminations: BNC plugs into instrumentation; tinned leads land on Sensorex CX-series transmitter terminals.
  • Tank or In-Line Mounting: Submerge in the reservoir or install in a tee with FC50P (½″ NPT) or FC75P (¾″ NPT) gland fittings.
