What Is Actually in SNS 203 Pesticide
Two botanical oils carry this product and the percentages are small enough to be worth stating. Clove oil is the main active at 1.50 percent, with rosemary at 0.53 percent. The remaining 97.97 percent is water, polyglyceryl oleate and lauric acid, which is why it emulsifies into a tank instead of floating on top. That composition puts it under the FIFRA 25(b) minimum risk exemption, so there is no EPA registration number, and it is OMRI Listed. Target pests are the soil and leaf group that overlap in a wet room: fungus gnats, root aphids, thrips, shore flies and whiteflies. The re-entry interval is zero hours, which is the practical difference between this and a conventional insecticide in a room somebody has to work in.
Running It as a Soil Drench Rather Than a Spray
The two application routes take different rates and solve different problems. Into the medium, mix four to eight tablespoons per gallon of water, working toward the upper end on an established infestation. As a foliar it runs four to twelve tablespoons per gallon, applied every two to three days for as long as pressure continues. That difference matters because fungus gnat and root aphid populations live below the surface, where a leaf spray never reaches them. Treating only the canopy is the most common way growers convince themselves a product does not work. Soak the medium properly, out to the edge of the container. Botanical oils are contact materials with no residual action, so repeat applications are the mechanism rather than a sign of failure. Two cautions are worth carrying. Oils and strong light do not mix well on a leaf. And the zero hour re-entry interval concerns worker exposure rather than claiming the material is inert.
