At 6400K, the spectrum sits in the cool daylight range that keeps seedlings stocky and clones compact. One bar runs the length of two standard 1020 trays laid end to end. Hang it a couple of inches above freshly sown trays, since the tube runs cool enough to sit that close. Lift it as the first true leaves open, keeping the gap small, because fluorescent intensity drops quickly with distance. Most growers run 16 to 18 hours a day on a timer for seedlings and veg.

Lighting a Full Rack With a 4 ft T5 Strip Light
