SunPulse 150W CMH lamp at 3200K, a compact ceramic lamp

This is the small SunPulse ceramic lamp, sold as MPC150W/U/EDX17/E26/932 under product number 1151124. The SunPulse bulletin rates it at 15,750 lumens after 100 hours, or 105 lm/W, and 250 µmol/s of PPF. Colour temperature is 3200K and colour rendering is above CRI 80. Rated life is 12,000 hours on ten-hour starts. The lamp runs at 95V and 1.8A on an ANSI C142/O-rated or electronic ballast, with a 4 to 5 kV starting pulse. It uses an E26 medium base in a clear EDX17 bulb, 54 mm across and 138 mm long. Burning position is universal, so it can hang vertically, horizontally or at an angle. A hot restart takes 6 to 8 minutes. Maximum base temperature is 190°C and the bulb can reach 400°C. SunPulse lists it for open or enclosed luminaires.

Where a 150w ceramic metal halide lamp makes sense

A 150 watt CMH is the right size for a small tent, a propagation shelf, or a side light filling a gap in a bigger room. At this colour temperature it leans warm, which suits flowering while still carrying transitional growth. The medium base looks like a household socket, but this is a ballasted HID lamp. It will not light in an ordinary lamp fitting, and it needs a CMH or pulse-start metal halide ballast built for this wattage. Hang it closer than a big lamp, then raise it if the top leaves start to bleach or curl. That lower output is the trade-off for less heat and a smaller power bill. It will not carry a full flowering canopy on its own. For a 4x4 tent, the SunPulse 315W lamp is the better choice, and that lamp placed second of ten in our own CMH test. Many growers search for this as a 150 watt metal halide lamp, which it is, with a ceramic arc tube instead of quartz. The rated life is shorter than most 315W lamps, so plan on replacing it sooner.
