A ceramic metal halide lamp running 3200K at 33,000 lumens and 105 lm/W, with a 20,000-hour rated life and a universal burning position. The warm output suits bloom and the transition into it, in any single-ended 315W fixture.

A 3200K Ceramic Metal Halide Lamp Built for Bloom

The SunPulse 315W runs at 3200K and puts out 33,000 lumens at 100 hours, which works out to 105 lumens per watt — the arithmetic that matters more than the headline number, because it is what tells you the lamp is converting its draw efficiently. The warm 3200K point sits in the part of the spectrum that drives flowering metabolism, while carrying enough breadth to run through the transition rather than only the back half of bloom. SunPulse builds these around what the company calls true solar symmetry, developed by its group of photo-biologists, plant scientists and HID lamp designers. Colour rendering lands around CRI 80, which is well above HPS and below the high-CRI ceramic lamps — a fair trade for the output.

20,000-Hour Rated Life and Universal Burning Position

Rated at 20,000 hours, this lamp outlasts most MH and HPS by a wide margin, which changes the replacement maths across a multi-fixture room more than any single-cycle difference does. The universal burning position is the practical feature: it mounts horizontal, vertical or at an angle without a performance penalty, so fixture choice is not constrained by orientation the way position-restricted lamps constrain it. It draws 3.15A, uses the standard PGZX18 base that single-ended 315W CMH fixtures and ballasts expect, and restarts hot in six to eight minutes — worth knowing before a power blip mid-cycle sends anyone up a ladder. In our own ten-lamp 315W CMH comparison this lamp placed second overall on summed PAR across a five-foot footprint, and tied for second on relative UV, which is a strong result for a lamp at this price point.

Key Features

  • 33,000 Lumens at 105 lm/W: Strong output and efficacy from a 315W draw, keeping heat manageable while holding commercial-grade intensity
  • 3200K Warm Bloom Spectrum: Sits where flowering metabolism responds, with enough spectral breadth to carry the transition rather than bloom alone
  • 20,000-Hour Rated Life: Outlasts most MH and HPS lamps by a wide margin, stretching replacement intervals across a room
  • Universal Burning Position: Mounts horizontal, vertical or angled with no performance penalty, so the fixture decides the orientation and not the lamp
  • Standard PGZX18 Base: Fits the single-ended 315W CMH fixtures and ballasts already in most rooms, including remote-ballast setups
  • Second of Ten on Our Own PAR Test: Placed second on summed PAR across a five-foot footprint in our 315W CMH lamp comparison, and tied second on relative UV
