What a Smart Junction Box Adds to an LED Run

A breaker per string, and a meter. Daisy chained fixtures normally share one panel breaker, so a single fault drops the whole run and nothing tells you which fixture caused it. This box puts an electronic circuit breaker on each LED string and reads power draw while it does. Input is 100 to 277V, 50/60 Hz.

Wiring It Into a Daisy Chain Power Cord Run

It sits inside the ThinkGrow daisy chain power cord system rather than replacing your panel. Fixtures plug into it, it plugs into supply, and the protection sits between them. Two things are being guarded. Overcurrent trips a string electronically instead of cooking a driver, and surge protection takes the spikes that come off contactors and utility switching. The monitoring side is the part growers underuse. It collects power consumption data on site. Paired with a Hydro-X Pro it logs that wirelessly, so you see draw per run rather than a whole-room meter. The unit weighs about 5 lbs and links to a TrolMaster controller over RS-485.
