ThinkGrow TLB-3 Brings Four-Channel Model One Light to Shorter Runs
Not every bench or rack has room for a 4 ft light bar. The TLB-3 is the 2.5 ft member of the Model One bar family. It draws 90 watts and puts out up to 261 µmol/s of PPF. Four spectrum channels share the board: white, deep red, far red and UV. Paired with a TLD-4 driver, each channel dims on its own from 0 to 100%. That lets a grower add far red or UV at set times without changing fixtures. ThinkGrow rates the TLD-4 and TLB-3 combination at up to 2.9 µmol/J. The bar is sealed to IP56 and rated at L90 for more than 54,000 hours. The manual lists a gross weight of 1.43 lbs for one bar. ThinkGrow positions it as supplemental top lighting for indoor rooms and greenhouses.
Setting Up a 2.5 ft LED Grow Bar
Mount the TLD-4 driver on a Model One mounting bar or on its hangers first. Press the light bar into the driver until it clicks and sits fully seated. Together the driver and bar form a fixture about 30.15 in long and 4.04 in tall. Hang it more than six inches above the canopy, as the manual requires. Link neighboring drivers with TDC-2, TDC-3 or TDC-4 daisy-chain cords. A TDC-120, TDC-240 or TDC-277 splitter cord feeds power and the controller signal to each group. The drivers accept 100–277VAC, so the same parts suit common commercial voltages. A TrolMaster controller then sets intensity and spectrum on a schedule. The driver and power cords are sold separately. Rooms that need longer coverage can run the longer TLB-1 or TLB-2 on the same drivers.
