ThinkGrow TDC-240 Feeds Larger Model One Groups on 240V
Every group of Model One drivers needs one feed cord to bring in power. The TDC-240 is that cord for rooms wired for 240 volts. It ends in a NEMA 6-15 plug, which also fits T-slot 6-20 receptacles. The cord is 7 ft (2.1 m) long, with 18 AWG conductors rated to 10A. At the driver end it splits into a power lead and a control connection. The power lead plugs into the input of the first driver in the group. The control branch links to a TrolMaster controller with an ECS-9 cable for dimming and scheduling. The manual lists the cord at 0.88 lbs. It is rated for rooms from 32 to 104°F. Feed cords are not included with Model One drivers or bars, so each group needs one ordered separately.
Sizing a Group on a 240V Splitter Power Cord
The manual allows up to 22 drivers on one feed cord at this voltage. That is double the count allowed on the 120-volt version, so fewer feed cords serve the same room. On 208-volt supplies the limit drops to 19, and on 230-volt supplies it is 21. Mount the drivers first, alternating direction so the male and female leads line up. Link neighboring drivers with TDC-2, TDC-3 or TDC-4 daisy-chain cords. Connect the splitter head to the first driver's input port. Run an ECS-9 from the control branch to the controller if the group will be dimmed. Plug into the receptacle last, once every driver and bar is seated. Have a licensed electrician confirm the circuit rating for the full group load. The TDC-120 and TDC-277 cover other supply voltages.
