Aero-Fan AB-6 Seals the V-6 Outlet Down to 4 Inches
The Aero-Fan V-6 has a 6 in outlet, but not every duct run needs that full size. The AB-6 steps that outlet down to 4 in. It seats inside the fan cover rather than hanging off the end as a separate fitting. TrolMaster says the booster minimizes blowholes, the gaps where air leaks between intake and exhaust. Less leakage means more of the fan's airflow reaches the duct. That can raise system efficiency without raising fan speed. It is also the fitting that connects a PS-4 poly air sock to the V-6. The pack includes the vent tube clamp used to hold the air sock in place. Each package holds two 4 in boosters. Both boosters in the pack are the same size.
Fitting a 4 Inch Duct Reducer to an Aero-Fan
Switch off and unplug the V-6 before starting. Unlock the clasps and release the fan body from its frame. Insert the booster into the fan cover at the open end, opposite the cover. Set the fan body back into the frame. Hold the rings in position and relock the fan body. Check that the booster sits flush with no visible gap around its edge. Slide the PS-4 or matching ducting over the booster and secure it with the clamp. Run the fan and feel around the joint for escaping air. For the larger V-8 fan, the AB-8 is the matching booster. The attached installation guide shows each step with diagrams.
