ThinkGrow TDC-1 Starts a Model One Group With a Separate Power Cord

Each group of Model One drivers needs power and a controller signal at its first driver. The TDC-120 and TDC-240 feed cords combine both in one 7 ft lead with a plug. The TDC-1 splits that job differently. It is a short 5.9 in (15 cm) splitter that plugs into the first driver's input. One branch accepts a separate main power cable such as the EC-240. The other branch takes the controller connection through an ECS-9 cable. That setup lets growers choose their own main power cord length and plug type. The conductors are 18 AWG, rated to 10A at 100–277V. The cord weighs 0.15 lbs, and Hydrofarm lists the unit at 7.3 × 1.9 × 1.0 in. It is rated for rooms from 32 to 104°F.

Wiring a Model One Group With a Splitter Cable

Mount the drivers first and alternate their direction so the leads line up. Plug the TDC-1 into the input port of the first driver in the group. Connect the main power cable to its power branch. Run an ECS-9 from the control branch to the TrolMaster controller. Link the rest of the drivers with TDC-2, TDC-3 or TDC-4 daisy-chain cords. Plug in the main power cord only after every bar and cord is seated. Stay within the driver count the manual allows per feed at your voltage. A 240V feed, for example, can carry up to 22 drivers. If a single cord with a plug is simpler for your room, the TDC-120 or TDC-240 does the same job in one piece. The full wiring diagram is in the Model One manual attached below.
