ThinkGrow UH-2 Mounts Model-I Fixtures Directly to Unistrut

Commercial rooms built on Unistrut often skip ratchet hangers altogether. The UH-2 lets a Model-I fixture hang straight from the channel. It is made for the ThinkGrow Model-I and Model-I Plus LED fixtures. It fits standard 1-5/8 in metal framing channel. A quick release design lets the light come down for cleaning or service without loosening the strut hardware. Mounting tight to the ceiling leaves more room between the fixture and the canopy. That extra headroom helps in low rooms and multi-tier racks. It is sold for Model-I rooms where fixtures hang from a strut grid. Model-H, Model-W and Model-V fixtures use a different hanger, the UH-1. No ceiling channel or anchors are included.

Installing a Model-I Unistrut Hanger

Lay out the strut so it lines up with the Model-I hanging points. Confirm the channel and anchors are rated for the full fixture weight. Attach a UH-2 at each hanging point the fixture manual specifies. Raise the fixture and engage the quick release until it locks in place. Check that the light is level before connecting power. Route power and control cables away from the release mechanism. To service the light, open the release and lower the fixture by hand. The hanger holds a fixed height, so set canopy distance with dimming or bench height. Overhead mounting in commercial rooms is best handled by a licensed installer.
