What the TrolMaster DFM-1 Measures
This meter installs inline on a 1 in water or nutrient line. It reads flows from 0.53 to 15.85 GPM (2 to 60 L/min) and keeps a running total of volume delivered. A 1 in LCD on the body shows the live reading at the pipe. The same data travels to the Aqua-X Pro over a 16 ft RJ12 cable. It plugs into the controller directly or through an SPH-1 RJ12 splitter hub. With the Aqua-X Pro Feed by Volume function, each irrigation stops once a set volume has passed. Installing a 1 Inch Digital Flow Meter
A 1 inch digital flow meter belongs on the main feed line, after the pump and before the manifold splits into zones. Fit it with the meter oriented to the direction of flow. Seal the NPT threads with PTFE tape, and tighten by hand plus a careful quarter turn. Keep the meter where the LCD can be read from the walkway. Run the RJ12 cable back to the Aqua-X Pro or a nearby SPH-1 hub, clear of drip lines. Once connected, set each zone's target volume in the controller. Compare the first few totals with a measured bucket fill to confirm the reading. Watch for a total that drifts upward on the same program, which can point to a leak downstream. A falling total at the same run time often means a clogged filter or emitter. Flush the line before installing, since debris can foul the meter. Set up this way, it gives every zone the same dose, run after run.
