What the TrolMaster OAT-24 Adds to an Aqua-X Pro
An irrigation controller is only as useful as the number of zones it can actually switch. This board is the part that turns one Aqua-X Pro into a genuinely zoned system. It carries twelve independent 24 volt outputs, each one driving its own solenoid valve. Every output is configured on its own, so a propagation bench and a flower room fed from the same reservoir need not share a schedule. Chain enough boards together and the Aqua-X Pro will address up to six hundred individually controlled valves. That is commercial scale rather than a hobby number. Each output is rated at 24 VAC and half an amp, which covers a standard horticultural solenoid comfortably. Input is universal, from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz, drawing a maximum of 1.7 amps. The board also works with the NFS-2 and NFS-3 units.
Five Modes on One 24V Control Board
The modes are where this board earns its place. Recycle handles continuous or cyclic feeding, and Schedule runs a clock. Demand triggers from a sensor, Volume meters a measured quantity, and Auto-fill keeps a tank topped. Because each valve is set independently, you can run several of those modes at once across twelve zones. One wiring note matters and it is easy to miss. If you run more than one of these boards with an NFS controller, do not share a common wire between the modules. The outputs will not behave as configured if you do. Operating conditions are undemanding at 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit with humidity up to ninety percent. The box holds the board, a 16 ft RJ12 cable, a power cable and a 13-pin Phoenix type connector. Mount it in the fertigation room near the valves rather than beside the controller. An RJ12 run costs far less to extend than twelve separate valve runs.
