Where the TrolMaster AS-1 Sits in a Carbon-X System
A controller that knows a room is unsafe is only useful if somebody outside it finds out. This is the part that tells them. The AS-1 carries both an audible sounder and a visible indicator, and it is meant to be mounted where a person will encounter it. Inside the room it warns anyone already working. Outside the door it warns anyone about to walk in, and that is the placement worth thinking hardest about. Linking matters as much as siting. The station can be tied to the low level sensor alone, to the high level sensor alone, or to both together. Tying it to both is what TrolMaster describe as complete redundancy, and it means a single sensor fault does not leave the room silent. Setup is plug and play through the RJ12 cabling the rest of the system uses. The pack includes the alarm, a sixteen foot RJ12 cable, a four foot RJ12 cable and an RJ12 T-splitter.
Power, the Dry Contact Output and the Package List
Input runs from a hundred to two hundred and forty volts AC at fifty or sixty hertz, so supply is not a constraint anywhere. Output to the alarm itself is 24 V at 0.2 A. The extra output is the one worth planning around. A volt free contact rated at 30 VDC or 250 VAC and six amps comes out of the unit. That is what ties a room alarm into something larger. Run it to a building fire panel, to a building management system, or to a remote sounder in an office. Working conditions are thirty-two to a hundred and twenty-two Fahrenheit at ninety percent humidity or below. The packed carton is 160 by 80 by 90 mm.
