TrolMaster 240V Humidity Device Station for Hydro-X Rooms
The DSH-2 is the 240-volt relay that lets a Hydro-X controller turn a humidifier or dehumidifier on and off. The device plugs into the station, the station plugs into a 240 VAC, 50/60Hz supply, and an RJ12 cable carries the control signal. Output is rated at 10 A at 240 VAC. For dehumidifiers the practical ceiling is lower, so use units drawing less than 7 A to avoid current overload. An LED power indicator shows when the station is live. Addressing lets the controller tell this station apart from others on the same line, so several humidity devices can run from one Hydro-X. In the box are the station, a 16 ft RJ12 cable, a 4 ft RJ12 cable and an RJ12 T-splitter. The T-splitter lets it join a chain of device stations instead of taking a controller port of its own. The working range is 32 to 122°F at up to 90% humidity. The package measures 85 x 80 x 90 mm and ships at about 0.75 lb. It is ETL and FCC registered, with a three-year warranty.
Wiring a Hydro-X Humidity Device Station Beside the Dehumidifier
Most growers hang the station right beside the device it runs, then route the RJ12 lead back to the controller. That keeps the heavy power cord short and moves the light signal cable instead. In the Hydro-X menu the station is assigned to humidify or dehumidify, and the controller switches it against its own humidity reading. Setpoints, including separate lights-on and lights-off targets, live in the controller rather than the station. Check the nameplate before plugging anything in, since some 240-volt dehumidifiers pull more than the station allows. A unit over that limit wants a contactor or a heavier relay between it and the controller. Keep the station off the floor and clear of the condensate line. The honest limit is the supply. This is a 240-volt station only. A 120-volt device needs a station built for that voltage. It switches power and measures nothing, so humidity readings still come from the controller sensor.
Key Features
- 240V Humidity Relay: It switches a 240 VAC humidifier or dehumidifier on command from the Hydro-X controller.
- 10 A Output Rating: The relay handles up to 10 A at 240 VAC for humidifiers.
- Dehumidifiers Under 7 A: Keeping compressor units below 7 A avoids current overload at the relay.
- Addressable RJ12 Connection: Each station takes an address, so several can share one controller line.
- Cable Set Included: A 16 ft RJ12 cable, a 4 ft RJ12 cable and a T-splitter come in the box.
