TrolMaster DCC-2 Puts One Device Under Two Controllers

A single exhaust fan often has more than one job in a grow room. It may need to clear CO2 when levels run high and also run on a night-time schedule. The DCC-2 lets two separate controllers share that one device instead of buying a second fan and module. It plugs into one of TrolMaster's plug-in device stations through its built-in RJ12 lead. Supported modules are the DSC-1, DSH-1/2, DST-1/2, DSP-1, DSD-1 and DSV-1. Each side of the adapter, Section A and Section B, is addressed to a different controller. TrolMaster's own example pairs a Hydro-X on one side with a Carbon-X on the other. Each side can be registered as a temperature, humidity, CO2 or timer function. Once linked, the adapter replaces the module's original preset with the functions you assign. The package measures 6.14 × 3.27 × 1.18 in and weighs 0.11 lbs.

Series or Parallel: Setting the Dual System Control Adapter Interlock

The interlock setting decides how the two conditions combine. With interlock on, both conditions must be true before the device runs, which is a series setup. For example, an exhaust fan could run only when CO2 and humidity are both above setpoint. With interlock off, either condition can start the device on its own, which is a parallel setup. That suits a fan that should run for high CO2 or during a scheduled night-time air exchange. Toggling the interlock on either section changes both sections together. A quick press of Mode picks the module type, and holding it for three seconds resets the adapter. A quick press of Add registers it with the controller, and holding Add for three seconds switches the interlock. TrolMaster notes the reset button does not clear the link on HCS-2 or NFS-2 controllers, so use the controller menu there. It is rated for rooms from 32 to 122°F at up to 90% relative humidity.
