Cool-only commercial AC is the job here. The TS-1 replaces the wall thermostat on a conventional unit and lets the Hydro-X decide when it cools. It wires to the existing thermostat cable at three terminals, R, Y and G. No separate power supply is needed, because it runs from the RJ12 link to the controller DEVICES port. Input is 12 VAC at a maximum of 0.1 A. The LCD shows the setpoint above and the current temperature below, with Cool On when cooling is called. A fan button toggles between Auto, where the fan runs only while cooling, and On, where it runs nonstop. One Hydro-X can run up to four TS modules, each with its own day and night setpoints. Pressing the Addressing button registers the station with the controller as T1 through T4. Firmware updates load through a micro-SD slot. Packaged and rooftop AC units are the usual match, especially in rooms where heat is never the problem. Pull the bracket off with its two tabs, mount it near the thermostat cable, and press each bare conductor into its terminal. Give each wire a gentle tug afterward to confirm the clamp holds. Once addressed, the station follows the controller's lights-on and lights-off targets. A flowering room can then run cooler at night without a programmable thermostat on the wall. Auto fan is the common choice, while On keeps air moving across the coil between cycles. Several cool-only units in one building can each get their own station on the same controller. The honest limit is in the name. It has no heat terminal, so a unit that also heats, or a heat pump, needs a station built for those systems. It is also not a standalone thermostat and needs a Hydro-X to follow. Mount it indoors, clear of water and supply-air drafts, where it is easy to reach for service.
