TrolMaster Mini Controller Cabinet Puts the Controller and Relays in One Box

The SCC-4 is a wall-mounted cabinet that holds one TrolMaster main controller and up to six DSR-1 relay device stations. It takes the GCS-1, HCS-1, NFS-1, CDA-1 or TCS-1 on a removable mounting panel behind a transparent cover. Power comes in at 100–277V, 50/60Hz, with a maximum input of 60A and up to 10A on each of six output channels. Three built-in RJ12 splitter boards carry 6, 6 and 5 ports for sensors and device modules. The enclosure is rated IP53 against dust and water spray. A cooling fan speeds up as the inside warms, and its LED flashes red if it overheats or stalls. TrolMaster lists it as conforming to UL 61010-1 and certified to CSA C22.2 #61010.1. The cabinet body measures 15.15 × 13.51 × 5.59 in and weighs 9.04 lbs. It ships in a 15.55 × 15.55 × 6.69 in carton. Two power cables, three 1.6 ft RJ12 leads and three back plates for TS, ARS, HS and TSH stations come in the box.

Setting Up the Controller Enclosure on the Wall

This cabinet is wall mount only, and the screws are not in the box. Check that the wall can take the loaded weight, then fasten the adapter plates to the back before hanging it. Most growers put it just outside the flower room door, where the controller screen is readable without opening the room. Inside, relay stations clip onto the DIN rail and the thermostat-style stations mount on the included back plates. Plan the splitter groups before you plug anything in. TrolMaster does not allow sensors, device modules and lighting on the same group, so give each job its own board. Two groups can be joined into one larger group with a male-to-male RJ12 cable when a room needs more ports. Keeping everything in one box turns a tangle of plug-in modules into a panel an electrician can actually trace. The manufacturer marks it for industrial use only, so treat the high-voltage side like any permanent electrical panel. For a small tent with two or three modules, a plain wall-mounted controller is the simpler setup.
