Twister T4 Leaf Collector for the T4 Trimmer

A T4 trimmer cuts with suction, and this unit supplies that suction while catching everything it pulls away. Its 1 HP motor spins a 10 in impeller at 3,450 RPM. Airflow reaches 1,190 CFM with static pressure of 6.45 in of water. Air enters through a 5 1/2 in inlet that couples straight to the T4. The trimmer sits on top of the collector stand, with its control box on the same side as the vacuum outlet. Cut leaf is drawn through the cyclone and into a pair of filter bags, a fine-thread outer bag and an inner drawstring bag. The unit stands 19 in tall and weighs 58 lbs. Power is 120 V, drawing 10 A running and 53 A for a moment at startup. Plan on a 15 A breaker and a standard NEMA 5-15 plug. Any extension cord must be at least 14 AWG. Levelling feet let you set the stand true or tilt it slightly for a single machine. The stand can later be converted for a Trim Saver if the setup changes.

Running and Cleaning a Trimmer Vacuum

Set the collector on a solid floor with room to reach the trimmer inlet and outlet. Hang the outer bag on its hooks, then the inner bag, and cinch the drawstring before zipping both closed. Lift the T4 onto the stand so the coupling slides over the collector inlet. Tighten the hose clamp around the coupling and inlet to seal the joint. Check that every clamp is snug and both bags are zipped before switching on. Plug the vacuum into a circuit of its own. Empty the bags regularly through the day. Clean the collector by hand every eight hours of running. Never pressure wash it, because the motor housing is not watertight. Pull the impeller with a pulley puller and soak it in hot water with a resin cleaner. Wipe the inside of the impeller housing with the same cleaner. Soak and rinse the filter bags, then let them dry before refitting. Grease the bearings every 1,000 hours of use. Kept clean, the vacuum holds strong airflow and a sharp, even cut on the trimmer.
