A generator turns salt, water and power into sanitiser, which means nothing concentrated ever arrives on a pallet. The Ushio NaOClean electrolyzed water unit makes up to 300 gal an hour at neutral pH.

What the Ushio NaOClean Electrolyzed Water Unit Makes

The unit electrolyses refined salt in tap water and produces a pH-neutral solution of hypochlorous acid. Output runs up to 300 gal per hour, or 7,200 GPD. All of it is generated on site, so nothing concentrated has to be delivered, decanted or stored. Neutral pH is the part that matters for spraying. Hypochlorous acid is most stable and least aggressive near neutral. That is what lets the output go onto a plant rather than only onto a surface. The output sits at pH 7.0 to 7.5, produced by non-diaphragm electrolysis. Available chlorine is adjustable, with settings around 100 and 200 parts per million. The cabinet measures 34 in tall by 12 in wide and 22 in long, and weighs 57 lb. That footprint fits a corner of a head house rather than needing a plant room of its own. Warranty is one year, and the barcode on the unit reads 48777650356. Electrolyzed water is recognised and regulated by the EPA and approved by the USDA for use in organic crop production. The technology was in commercial use in Japan for years before Ushio brought it to the United States.

Greenhouse Water Treatment Without a Chemical Store

Greenhouse water treatment usually means a locked shed full of drums and somebody trained to handle them. A generator changes that arithmetic, because the only inputs are salt, water and power. There is no concentrate to transport, no caustic to decant and no vapour to ventilate. That takes a whole category of risk out of the room and away from the people working in it. The output gets used the way a sanitiser is used rather than the way a nutrient is. It goes onto foliage, onto benches, into post-harvest wash water and through irrigation lines. Ushio points at foliar disease on greenhouse-grown ornamentals as the case it speaks to directly. Mix fresh and use it fresh. Hypochlorous solutions lose strength standing, faster in light and warmth, so a batch made this morning is not the same batch this evening. That is the argument for generating at the point of use instead of filling a tank and drawing on it all week. Salt quality is not optional either, and the cell is built around refined salt above ninety-nine percent sodium chloride. Bay salt, roasted salt and anything carrying citric acid, amino acids or bromine compounds will foul it. Keep the supply within the rated pressure band and keep a service record, because the electrode is the consumable on a machine like this.

Key Features

  • Up to 300 gal per hour: That is 7,200 gallons per day, generated on site.
  • Neutral pH hypochlorous: pH 7.0 to 7.5, which is stable enough to spray.
  • Salt and tap water: The only inputs are refined salt, mains water and power.
  • Non-diaphragm electrolysis: A single-cell design rather than a split anode and cathode.
  • Adjustable chlorine: Settings around 100 and 200 parts per million.
  • Compact cabinet: 34 x 12 x 22 in and 57 lb, so it fits a head house corner.
  • No chemical storage: Nothing concentrated to transport, decant or ventilate.
