This SDI-12 weather sensor drops Campbell Scientific's ClimaVUE50 into the Growlink wireless platform. Outdoor wind, rain, solar radiation, RH, barometric pressure, and lightning all log to the same dashboard as your terraLINK and ESM channels.

All-in-One SDI-12 Weather Sensor with No Moving Parts

The Growlink Wireless Weather Station centers on Campbell Scientific's ClimaVUE50 — a compact digital head with no cups, no vanes, or tipping buckets. One SDI-12 line carries air temperature, RH, vapor pressure, barometric, wind, solar radiation, precipitation, and lightning back to the controller. Wind reads 0–30 m/s at ±0.3 m/s or 3%, precipitation lands at 0.017 mm resolution, and solar covers 0–1,750 W/m².

Compact Outdoor SDI-12 Weather Sensor Built for Long-Term Sites

Average current sits under 1 mA at 12 Vdc. The head pairs cleanly with a small solar panel and a 12 V battery for off-grid sites. A built-in tilt sensor flags mast lean that would skew wind direction or rainfall totals. Mount the head on a 1.25–2.0 in OD pole using the included V-bolt. The Growlink wireless module pushes readings to the dashboard alongside your terraLINK substrate and ESM climate channels.

Key Features

  • ClimaVUE50 SDI-12 head: Air temp, RH, vapor pressure, barometric, wind, solar, precipitation, and lightning log over one SDI-12 line.
  • No moving parts: Sonic wind, acoustic rain, and AM-band lightning detection — nothing wears out the way cups and tipping buckets do.
  • Wind 0–30 m/s at ±0.3 m/s or 3%: Direction reads 0–359° at ±5°, accurate enough for VPD and ET math on greenhouse vents.
  • Precipitation at 0.017 mm resolution: Acoustic detection captures micro-events and stays accurate through driving rain to 400 mm/h.
  • Solar 0–1,750 W/m² and barometric 500–1,100 hPa: Full-spectrum site logging for dew point, ET, and front tracking.
  • Built-in tilt sensor: Flags mast lean that would skew wind direction or rainfall totals after a freeze cycle.
  • <1 mA at 12 Vdc: Pairs cleanly with a small solar panel and a 12 V sealed battery for off-grid sites.
