CYCO Outback Series Seeweed Goes In the Ground, Not the Tank

This is a dry, granular fertilizer and conditioner from the Outback line, made for soil work outdoors and in the greenhouse. The guaranteed analysis is an even 2-2-2, backed by 6% calcium and 0.5% magnesium. Ingredients are poultry manure, fish tankage and Ascophyllum nodosum kelp, so the nitrogen releases slowly as soil life breaks it down. In established beds, Cyco calls for 32.8 oz per 100 sq ft every six to eight weeks. At planting, drop about 1.75 oz into the base of each hole and cover it with a little soil before the root ball goes in. That buffer keeps fresh manure from sitting directly against young roots. Potted plants take roughly the same amount per 8-inch pot as a top-dressing, repeated every three to six weeks. For super soil, the rate is 14 oz per 35 cu ft, mixed through before the batch cooks. Scratch top-dressings in and water them through, since granules left on a dry surface do very little. It carries a farmyard smell. That is worth knowing before spreading it in a small indoor room.

Using a Kelp and Manure Soil Amendment Through the Season

The kelp and manure pairing is what makes this more than a mild feed. Organic matter from the manure and fish improves how the soil holds water, which matters most in sandy or tired ground. Kelp adds trace elements and natural growth compounds that help young plants settle in after transplant. The feeding chart places it from seedlings through established growth, with the Outback Vegetive and Flowering blends covering the heavier feeding. Switch to the Flowering blend a couple of weeks before bloom rather than leaning on this mix alone for flower. The calcium content is a quiet bonus for tomatoes, peppers and anything prone to blossom-end problems. This is not a hydroponic product, and it does not belong in drippers or a reservoir. The smaller bag covers a backyard garden or a season of container top-dressing. The larger bag suits market gardens, raised-bed rows and growers building several super soil batches. Store it sealed, off the floor and away from pets, since manure-based blends attract animals.
