Maxicrop Soluble Seaweed Powder in the 10 lb Commercial Bag
This is Maxicrop's dry seaweed extract, the powdered sibling of its long-running liquid. The 10 lb label guarantees 17.0% soluble potash, derived from Ascophyllum nodosum extract and potassium hydroxide. It is OMRI listed, which matters for certified organic farms and nurseries. The commercial label is written for growers working by the acre and the tank. Foliar work runs at 2 lb per acre per growing season, split across three passes. Those go on once there is enough leaf to take it, again before bloom, and once more during bloom. Root injections use 1 lb per 100 gallons, placed 10 to 12 inches deep on 3-foot spacing around trees and shrubs. Transplants get 2.7 oz per 50 gallons, or a dip in a 1:100 solution before planting. Seeds soak in that same 1:100 solution, then dry before sowing. For home-scale watering, Maxicrop's published rate is about a teaspoon per gallon once a week. Growers who prefer pouring to weighing can dissolve 10.7 oz per gallon as a liquid stock and dose from that.
Why Growers Stock a Kelp Biostimulant by the Bag
Powder earns its place on cost and shelf life. Maxicrop states the dry extract keeps indefinitely without preservatives, provided the bag stays tightly closed. That last part is the catch, because the powder pulls moisture from the air and will cake if left open. Seaweed contributes trace elements and natural growth compounds along with the potash, which is why it shows up in transplant and stress programs. This bag carries a real potassium contribution, so it is not quite as invisible in a feed chart as the liquid. Account for it when running a separate PK product in flower. One bag covers about five acres of foliar work for a season at the label rate. Mixed as root-injection solution, it makes roughly a thousand gallons. Backyard growers will find the smaller retail sizes far easier to use up while fresh. Earlier versions of this product were sold as a 1-0-4 formula, and some older references still quote that analysis.
