Since ancient times, essential oils have been extracted from plants and botanicals to produce perfume, tonics, medicine, therapies, and cooking components. More recently in modern times, several methods are used to make these sought-after life-improving products. Distillation, Solvent Extraction, Hypercritical CO2 Extraction, and Expression (cold pressing) have all had a huge boom in producing the most potent and healthy of extracts. Growers House carries everything from simple pollen screens and extract bags to high-tech ovens and Rotary Evaporators to achieve perfection.
The extraction of essential oils or concentrates from plants goes back centuries and modern methods are more scientific, and potent and vary greatly depending on what form of concentrate is desired, from hot and cold presses to CO2 and Butane extraction we carry it all. There are two main groups of extracts, solvent-based and solventless extracts. Solventless extraction typically involves water, heat, pressure, and a sieve. While solvent-based extraction is fairly more sophisticated and usually involves some sort of chemical solvent in order to separate out the essential oils from the plant matter.
