Types of Automation Hardware

Controllers and Hubs

The Connect controller pairs 16 solid state relays with 4 mechanical relays and eight 0-10V outputs. It reads up to 36 SDI-12 sensors. The LINK Hub powers and talks to up to eight LINK devices over RJ-45, with Ethernet or Wi-Fi uplink. The TrolMaster Integration Hub replaces a Hydro-X or Aqua-X brain and keeps existing sensors wired.

LINKS Modules for Climate, Light and Irrigation

The 4-Channel lightLINK dims up to 200 fixtures across four 0-10V zones. relayLINK switches six dry contacts, quadLINK runs four 120V outlets, and hvacLINK replaces a 24VAC thermostat. valveLINK drives eight solenoids, and nutriLINK runs eight dosing pumps with pH, EC and flow inputs.

Substrate, Climate and Tank Sensors

ClimaLINK pulls air across its probes and calculates VPD on board, with an optional NDIR CO2 version. canopyLINK takes up to eight sensors on M8 ports, and batch tankLINK watches pH, EC, temperature and tank level. A weather station built on the ClimaVUE50 covers outdoor sites.

How Growers Build a System

Most rooms start with a hub or the Connect controller, then add LINKS modules zone by zone. Sensors feed the cloud platform, where schedules, alerts and crop-steering programs run. The powerLINK smart outlet keeps its schedule locally if Wi-Fi drops, and DIN rail kits tidy modules into a control panel.

Growlink vs TrolMaster: can they work together?

Yes. The TrolMaster Integration Hub takes the place of a Hydro-X or Aqua-X controller and keeps every sensor and device station wired in place. Up to 16 TrolMaster devices register per hub. Their data then feeds the same dashboard as the LINKS hardware.

What does a TerraLINK substrate sensor measure?

It reads volumetric water content, bulk EC and root-zone temperature inside coco or rockwool. The probe uses TDR, so EC drift does not skew the water reading during drybacks. Bulk EC spans 0 to 20,000 µS/cm, and output is SDI-12 on a 2 m cable.

What can the Connect controller run?

It handles climate, irrigation and lighting from one board, across unlimited rooms and zones. Relays switch equipment, the eight 0-10V outputs dim lights, and SDI-12 inputs read substrate and climate sensors. BACnet MS/TP and BACnet IP connect it to existing building systems.
